I have been lucky enough to create a lot of fun work for a lot of fun clients over the years, but this brief was something else. When W+K decided to take over a building at Cannes, they knew they wanted it to be something that would make our competitors jealous and potential clients excited about us as a creative company. Every single thing in this building was created from scratch. We wanted to give it a really chic and sexy name one that would completely fuck with people’s heads once they actually arrived at the destination. Like every other time that good advertising has made something shitty super desirable.
We went all out, with the decor of the building from the custom towels to custom toilet seats to custom tattoos to the visors to the content on the 52 screens that happen to be in the building (don’t ask me why there were so many screens, they just came with the building). We even created a custom magic 8ball aka The CCO-conut (which you can see in the ‘Play’ section of this website) We took inspiration from the shittiest beach clubs and bars from around the world and created this iconic landmark that will live on forever in the hearts of all marketers and advertisers that happened to attend the Cannes Lions Award Show in 2024.
